Report a Robin Sighting

Robin (kakaruai / toutouwai) are making a comeback in the coastal areas of the Abel Tasman National Park, thanks to predator control and native plantings.

From 6 to 31 January 2025 we asked visitors to report robin sightings so we could learn more about how they are doing. A big thank you to everyone who took part in our Report A Robin Campaign. The map below shows where robins were spotted during this time.

We are still interested in robin sightings, so please log them through the Abel Tasman App. Every robin counts – your report will help us protect these friendly native birds.
