Fungi Friday – Yellow Club Fungus (Clavaria archeria)

27 January 2022 | All News » Fungi Friday

The bright yellow Clavaria archeri is recognisable by its staghorn branched form. This endemic fungus is found growing on the ground in podocarp forests. The latin “clava” describes the club shaped fruiting body. These specimens were seen in the autumn by DOC ranger Deb Price on a stoat line in the Awaroa Inlet area.
