ASTROLABE

Our camera overlooking Astrolabe Roadstead provides views across to Motuareronui Adele Island and south towards Marahau in the distance.

The Roadstead provides a sheltered route for kayakers and boaties.
It was named by French explorer and botanist Dumont D’Urville when he visited in 1827 and the name still remains.  Adele was the name of his wife.
